Co-Managed IT

Your IT team, reinforced.

Co-Managed IT plugs proven specialists into your existing team — 24/7 monitoring, tier-2/3 escalation, cybersecurity depth, compliance support, and project muscle. Your people stay. The gaps get filled.

Why this matters

A one-person IT department can't also be a SOC, a project team, and a compliance analyst.

The most talented internal IT leaders we meet are stretched too thin. They're fighting an inbox that never empties, trying to keep up with cybersecurity threats that mutate weekly, and quietly dreading the next vacation they can't take because nobody else has the keys.

Co-Managed IT relieves that pressure without replacing the people who already know your business. Your internal team stays. Specialists plug in alongside them — covering the shifts, the specialty skills, the audits, and the projects they can't get to. One accountable partner. No turf war.

What you get

  • 24/7 infrastructure monitoring and alerting
  • Tier-2 / tier-3 escalation on demand
  • A full cybersecurity and compliance stack
  • vCIO / vCISO advisory and roadmap
  • Project crews when your roadmap needs them
  • After-hours coverage so your lead can rest

Is this you?

Four signals co-managed is the right call.

Your IT team is drowning in tickets

They never get to the strategic work because the inbox never empties. Burnout follows — and so does turnover.

You need real cybersecurity depth

A generalist can't also be a SOC, a compliance analyst, and a vCISO. Cyber insurance and auditors are asking harder questions every year.

Coverage gaps scare you

Vacations, illness, resignations, and after-hours incidents all leave you exposed. One-person IT is a single point of failure.

Projects keep slipping

M365 migrations, firewall refreshes, new-office builds, M&A integration — they pile up because day-to-day support eats every hour.

Capabilities

The gaps we fill.

24/7 monitoring & alerting

Our NOC watches your endpoints, servers, network, and cloud tenants around the clock. Your team gets a clean alert queue, not a firehose.

Tier-1 helpdesk overflow

Password resets, printers, M365 nuisance tickets — we take the work your team shouldn't be doing, so they focus on what actually moves the business.

Tier-2 / tier-3 escalation

When your internal tech hits a wall — AD replication, Entra conditional access, obscure vendor issues — our senior engineers are one ticket away.

Cybersecurity & SOC

EDR, MDR, SIEM, email security, dark-web monitoring, vulnerability management. A full security stack your in-house IT doesn't have to build alone.

vCIO & vCISO advisory

Quarterly roadmap reviews, budget planning, technology-risk reporting, cyber-insurance questionnaires. Strategic air cover for your IT leader.

Project execution

Migrations, refreshes, rollouts, relocations. We bring the hands, the playbook, and the after-hours crews — your team stays focused on operations.

Compliance & audit support

HIPAA, PCI, NIST, CMMC, SOC 2 — we help build, document, and defend the controls. Your team stops being the audit evidence department.

After-hours & weekend coverage

Phone Mon–Fri 7 AM–5 PM ET, with after-hours text/email response the next business morning and 24/7 infrastructure monitoring. Your IT lead stops being on-call forever.

Engagement models

Pick the shape that fits your team.

Co-managed isn't one thing. We've built every one of these models with real clients — the right pick depends on what your internal team already does well.

01

Shared helpdesk

Your team keeps ownership of users and relationships. We take the ticket overflow — especially tier-1 noise and after-hours requests — so your engineers get their day back.

02

Specialty bench

Keep your generalists; rent our specialists. Security, cloud, networking, compliance, M365, automation. Billable only when you use them, predictable when you do.

03

Security-only

A full managed-security overlay on top of your existing IT. EDR + 24/7 SOC + vulnerability management + cyber-insurance questionnaire support.

04

Project partner

Scoped, fixed-fee projects — migration, rollout, refresh, audit remediation. Your team runs BAU, we deliver the project your roadmap keeps deferring.

Who it's for

You'll recognize yourself here.

  • Internal IT teams of 1–10 that can't staff every discipline
  • Companies with a strong IT lead but no tier-3 / security bench
  • Organizations prepping for SOC 2, HIPAA, or CMMC and short on audit hands
  • Growing businesses where ticket volume is eating the project roadmap
  • Firms needing reliable after-hours and holiday coverage without burning out their lead
  • Owners uneasy about the bus-factor of a single sysadmin

How we onboard

From fit call to running in four steps.

01

Fit call

One 30-minute call. You tell us what your team owns and where it's stretched. We tell you — honestly — whether co-managed is the right move or whether full managed would serve you better.

02

Scope map

We map every responsibility — who does what, when, and with which tools. No grey zones. Your team keeps the relationships they want to keep; we take the rest.

03

Stack overlay

Our monitoring, SOC, and ticketing plug into your existing ConnectWise / Autotask / ServiceNow / Freshservice — or we bring ours. Either way, your team stays in the tools they already know.

04

Run & review

Weekly sync, monthly scorecard, quarterly roadmap review with your IT leader and ownership. You see SLA, security posture, and project progress in one dashboard.

Frequently asked

Questions your IT leader is about to ask.

Will you replace our internal IT team?+
No. Co-Managed IT is explicitly designed around your team — we're hired to make them more effective, not to swap them out. If you want to fully outsource, our Managed IT service covers that. Co-managed means your people keep their seats.
How does ticket ownership work?+
Whatever your team wants to own, they own. Common split: your team keeps user-facing and relationship-heavy tickets, we take after-hours, tier-2/3 escalations, security alerts, and project work. We document the split in a scope map and review it every quarter.
Can we use our existing PSA / ticketing tool?+
Yes. We integrate with ConnectWise, Autotask, Halo, ServiceNow, Freshservice, or Zendesk. Alternatively you can use ours. We've done both — the right answer is whatever keeps your team's daily workflow intact.
How is co-managed priced?+
Two components: a predictable monthly retainer for the capabilities you subscribe to (monitoring, SOC, vCIO hours), plus project work scoped and priced separately. No per-ticket surprise invoices. You see the breakdown before you sign.
What about after-hours and weekends?+
Our infrastructure monitoring runs 24/7 and our engineers are on-call for true outages. Phone helpdesk is Monday–Friday 7 AM – 5 PM ET; after-hours text or email gets a response the next business morning. Critical client emergencies have a dedicated escalation path. Your internal lead stops being the only person with the after-hours pager.
Do you cover our cybersecurity and compliance?+
Yes — that's one of the most common reasons companies call us. We bring the full stack (EDR, MDR/SOC, email security, SIEM, dark-web, vulnerability management) plus compliance documentation and audit support for HIPAA, PCI, NIST, CMMC, and SOC 2. Your IT lead gets a partner who already speaks auditor.
How fast can we start?+
Simple overlays (monitoring, SOC) typically onboard in 1–2 weeks. Full co-managed with ticketing integration and vCIO cadence is usually 3–4 weeks. Security-only can be faster if your cyber insurance is forcing a deadline.
What happens when we grow past co-managed?+
Some clients stay co-managed forever because their internal team keeps growing with the business. Others eventually shift to fully managed as their internal IT gets absorbed elsewhere. Either way, we don't hold your data or your tools hostage — documentation and handoff are part of the engagement.

No internal IT team yet?

Look at Managed IT instead.
